Wout van Aert attacked with 2 kilometers remaining in Stage 2 of the Vuelta a España 2026, but overall leader Tadej Pogačar was there to make sure he didn’t pull away and secure the red jersey. Pogačar finished third on the day, securing four bonus seconds, and he remains nine seconds ahead of Van Aert in the GC standings.
